Today Marvel Comics released Avengers VS X-Men. This crossover comic contains the tragic death of the Father of the X-Men, Professor Xavier. Professor X died at the hands of protege Scott Summers, AKA Cyclops. Cyclops has been possessed by the Phoenix Force. It is unknown if Scott had some level of control or not. This will change the mutant community and the entire Marvel Universe forever, or at least until he comes back to life.
How will the rest of the mutants deal with Scott post AvX? Will Scott be able to live with himself? Will Magneto morn the loss of his friend/arch enemy? Only time will tell.
