Whovians are always a huge presence at any comic book or science fiction convention. You will find numerous Doctors running around the convention center. You might see several companions over the convention floor. You might see Doctor Who villains such as Daleks and Weeping Angels. It is almost guaranteed to see a TARDIS. But this year Whovians will be in for a real treat in St Louis.
Wizard World St. Louis has announced that Doctor’s Matt Smith and Karen Gillan will both be in attendance this year. Yes the 11th Doctor and his companion Amy Pond will be onsite and talking to fans.
Both will greet fans, sign autographs, pose for photo ops and conduct separate interactive Q&As (Smith on Saturday; Gillan on Sunday) during the event, held at America’s Center. They will pose together with fans for two hours on Saturday evening, which is believed to be the second time in North America that the duo has been available to fans (following their scheduled appearance at Louisville Comic Con, March 28-29).
I was able to attend Wizard World St. Louis last year. It was a terrific event. There is a ton to see and do over the course of the three days. Because of life events, I will not be able to attend this year. The news of Matt Smith and Karen Gillan attendance and panels has poured salt in my wounds. I would love to see both of them. My 13 year old daughter is also bummed out about this.
