Here we go, readers and dreamers! Our second round of Morgan’s Monthly Manga Musings! For the month of romance, I chose a silly little high school love story, which literally is on the title page of this volume, lol! 😉

“In this warmhearted romantic comedy, mistaken identity leads to a blossoming romance between two boys.
Aoki has a crush on Hashimoto, the girl in the seat next to him in class. But he despairs when he borrows her eraser and sees she’s written the name of another boy—Ida—on it. To make matters more confusing, Ida sees Aoki holding that very eraser and thinks Aoki has a crush on him.”
Morgan’s Musings: This story was charming and tickled my funny bones the perfect amount for a simple love mix-up (spoilers, I know, lol) story. Aoki is a goofy (some of his faces when he is overreacting…OMG!), but tender guy who has a crush on the sweet, angelic Hashimoto. During a test, Hashimoto lets him borrow an extra eraser and on it, she had written the name IDA. FUN FACT! In Japan, school erasers have covers and students write messages to each other or the name of their crush on it. The latter is the case here. Ida is a cool fellow who sits in front of our main, loveable bafoon. And when Aoki drops the eraser by Ida, he sees his name and thinks Aoki is in love with…him! Now our cool guy loses his chill as he has never had someone be ‘in love’ with him. Aoki has to keep Hashimoto’s secret and support her while Ika panics on if he should give Aoki a chance! What a mix-up!
As a note: There is a potential for our two men to get together. But it is all innocent. I like how Aoki tries so hard to make Hashimoto even though she doesn’t love him is precious and Ida not flat-out reject him, trying to get to know him better before making a decision. This was a fantastically paced tale of antics, an endearing heart that connects us to their high school days, and witnessing the natural growth of potential love. The Cinderella play! HAHAHA! It was awesome and Aoki is such a trooper! And the twist ending had me giggling and opened up the story for more. Well-done!
Will I Continue It? I very much enjoyed this series! It has nine volumes so far. It seems likely I will keep going. =)
