Here is a mini documentary about a group of boys who play Dungeons and Dragons every other weekend. They have never had a girl play with them. These boys don’t believe any girl would want to play this “boy game” with them. A group of four girls from their school are invited to play with them. The results were very surprising to the 9 to 11 year old boys. These girls loved it and were good at playing this game. It goes to show that the gender bias in geekdom is way off from the truth.
I have played D&D and other role playing games with several girls including my 13 year old daughter. My daughter loves playing these type of games. It is a fun way to bond and tell a story. All the girls I have ever played with are very good at role playing. Girls can play any game that boys can and often they are better at them.
