According to Deadline.com, TNT has dropped the pilot episode of the Titans. The Titans series inspired by the massively popular DC Comic series of the 80s, The New Teen Titans. In this version, Dick Grayson gave up being Robin to become Nightwing. He organizes a group of young heroes to fight for Justice including Raven and Starfire.
TNT’s new president, Kevin Reilly, has decided to go in a different direction. They are no longer interested in diving into the superhero television craze. Instead, TNT will focus on darker and edgier series.
I loved the New Teen Titans. The idea of watching a television series based on the great 80s run of Marv Wolfman and George Pérez thrilled me. Now if the Titans make it to television, it will be on a different network.
Hopefully this isn’t the end of the Teen Titans on television but can only wait and see.
