We take a moment to remember the horrible attacks on Pearl Harbor on December 07, 1941. Seventy-Five years ago today our nation was surprise attacked by Japan. At the time, we were actively seeking a peace treaty with Japan to prevent war with them. This attack launched the United States into World War II. It truly was a day of infamy and a day to be remembered.
I have known several veterans of World War II. They were all honorable men and women, including my Grandfather, Wilbur Litle, and a gentleman, Bill Martin, who was wounded during the Pearl Harbor attack. I will never forget any of them.
We pause to remember this day and our history.
Below is the audio of President Roosevelt’s address to our Nation after this attack.
