I was cynical about this movie. I know, I know, Johnny Depp is great in dark bizarre movies. But remakes of old TV shows do not often translate into good movies. I have changed my mind and I really want to see this movie.
I watched a little bit of the old Dark Shadows television show in re-runs. I would not call myself a fan but I found it somewhat interesting when I was bored. It was a soap opera with monsters. (No I don’t consider Erica Kane a monster.) It was creepy but cheesy at the same time.
This movie looks like it will be bringing some creepy cheese while having a good time. Deep looks like a natural to take over the reigns as the vampire, Barnabas Collins, released in 1972. I have not seen a good movie set in the 70s in a long time.
