Today’s WTF moment in geekdom is the announcement that Zack Snyder is stepping away from directing Justice League to be with his family after the suicide of his daughter.
Snyder, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter said he never intended to make all of this public but, “I never planned to make this public. I thought it would just be in the family, a private matter, our private sorrow that we would deal with.”
His wife is a producer on the film and will also be stepping away.
Joss Wheadon was brought in to write additional scenes and was asked to help complete the film after seeing a starting rough cut.
Although the thought of getting Wheadon onto a DC Film excites me, a different circumstance would have been preferred. However, with the talk of Joss being VERY interested in a Batgirl film, maybe this will be a way to lead into that extension of the new DC movie universe.
