Next Friday and Saturday is the 4th Annual LibraryCon at the Springfield -Greene County Library – Library Center. Check out their page here.
On Friday August 17th at 7 PM, will have a special session with author, comics historian and publisher Hope Nicholson. She’ll talk about “The Spectacular Sisterhood of Superwomen: Awesome Female Characters from Comic Book History,” which looks at the history of women in comics from the 1930s to 2010s. Hope is the owner of the Winnipeg-based publishing house Bedside Press, which creates graphic novels and prose fiction including “The Secret Loves of Geek Girls” and “Love Beyond Body, Space, and Time.” Books will be available for sale and signing.
On Saturday, Augst 18th, the full convention will be happening from 10 am to 5 pm. There will be various geek creators, writers and artists. This is an all age event and will take place throughout the Library Center.
