Bill & Ted 3: Face the Music is coming to theaters sometime in the summer of 2020. Filming started today as we found out via the official Bill & Ted movie Twitter page last night. “We begin filming tomorrow, dude!” Was posted last night.
Also co-screenwriter Ed Solomon posted to his personal twitter account, “Monday. Crew call: 7:30. First shot: 9:00.” This morning, Solomon posted the words “Party On” with a photo of a sign showing the way to the set.
What do we know about the cast of the film?
The original stars Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves will reprise their title roles as Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted “Theodore” Logan. And William Sadler will portray the the Grim Reaper. Also reprising their roles are Hal Landon Jr. as Ted’s dad, Captain Jonathan Logan and Amy Stoch as Missy.
New cast members include Beck Bennett of SNL as Ted’s younger brother Deacon; Jayma Mays from Glee as Bill’s wife Princess Joanna; Erinn Hayes as Ted’s wife Princess Elizabeth; Samara Weaving as Thea Preston, the daughter of Bill; Brigette Lundy-Paine as Billie Logan, daughter of Ted. Also joining the franchise are Scott Mescudi aka rapper Kid Cudi; and Anthony Carrigan (from Gotham).
Ed Solomon, has gone on record saying via twitter that this new film in the franchise will be more like the first film, 1989’s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure rather than its sequel, 1991’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.
Written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, who penned the two original films, and directed by Dean Parisot. Bill & Ted: Face the Music hits theaters on August 21, 2020.
