Bob Iger, 69, stepped down today as the CEO of Walt Disney Co. after 15 years. He will assume the role of executive chairman of Disney until his contract expired on Dec. 31, 2021. Iger is replaced by 27 year old Disney veteran Bob Chapek.
Iger has been very successful leading Disney. Their company grew significantly. Under his leadership, Disney acquired Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and 21st Century Fox.
Disney+ is a feather in Iger’s cap. The success of the streaming services has been incredible. Disney+ has surpassed even the wildest expectations.
