Rumors are swirling around Henry Cavill taking over the lead role in the new Highlander film. There is no confirmed announcement to it yet, which is why we are listing it as a rumor. For the last several days, other geek sites have ran the story that Cavill will take over this role. It appears Cavill is in contract discussions for this very role. This by no means is a done deal but it is looking more likely to happen than not to happen.
The new Highlander film is expected to be reboot. It is unknown if Henry will play the same lead character from the original Highlander film in 1986 as Conner MacLeod (originally played by Christopher Lambert) or different character set in the same universe.
Chad Stahelski will direct this new Highlander film. Stahelski was the director of the action franchise, John Wick. Kerry Williamson is writing the script for this movie.
Please tell me they will at least keep the amazing Queen music for the new movie.
