Big-time comic writer, Garth Ennis, will write the James Bond series on Dynamite comics. Look for James Bond #1 on comic book store shelves in January 2024.
Ennis is known for writing intense comics like Preacher, Hitman, Punisher, Hellblazer, Judge Dredd and The Boys. Ennis stated his take on James Bond is to take him back to the character he was in the Ian Fleming Original Novels. Ennis is quoted as saying, “When I took a look at the Bond of the Fleming novels, as opposed to the larger-than-life figure from the movies, I saw a great deal more potential — a much darker character in a more interesting world.” (Bleeding Cool)
If you are a fan of the movies, don’t worry, some of your favorite side characters will return. You can expect to see M, Q, Moneypenny, and Felix Leiter.
