Comic book writer, Dan Slott, is rumored to be leaving his exclusive status with Marvel and come DC Comics to write Superman Comics. Slott is well know for his writing at Marvel including long and great run on Amazing Spider-Man and The Superior Spider-Man. Writing Superman is a top of the list comic and DC may be using it to woo over Slott.
This is just a rumor at the moment. It was broke by Rich Johnston of Bleeding Cool on Wednesday. I waited for possible confirmation or rejection of this rumor but none has come. At this time we can verify that Slott will be heading to DC, leaving Marvel, or even writing Superman.
In my opinion, Dan Slott is a great comic writer. I loved his run on Amazing Spider-Man and Superior Spider-Man. I hated some of the things he did but he did it in a way that I loved the story and the ride.
Slott is also known for his social media presence. He can come across as extremely abrasive to some on social media.
I met Dan Slott and got some autographs from him at C2E2 several years ago. He is a huge comic book fan and geek. He is funny and extremely personable. He told stories to us as we met him. He was a great guy in person.
I wish the best for Dan. If writing Superman is a dream (and it is for most comic writers) then I hope the rumor is true for him.
