Acting legend Gene Hackman passed away. Hackman was found dead in his Santa Fe home along with his wife, Betsy Arakawa, and their dog. A search warrant was issued and the house was searched to investigate the reason all three passed away. The deaths were considered suspicious. Hackman was 95 years old but his wife Betsy was only 65 years old.
Hackman has a list of movie roles. He was amazing in these roles. Hackman was Lex Luthor in the Christopher Reeves Superman movies. He was Coach Norman Dale in the great basketball movie, Hoosiers. He was Sheriff “Little” Bill Daggett in Unforgiven. Hackman was Royal Tenenbaum in The Royal Tenenbaums. He may be best known for his role as Detective Jimmy “Popeye” Doyle on The French Connection. One of us most fun roles might have been as the Blind Hermit on Young Frankenstein with the great line “I was going to make espresso!”.
Rest in Peace, Gene Hackman. You are missed.
