Sir Patrick Stewart continues to impress legions of fans with his down to earth interviews and compassion. Recently at Comicpalooza, a fan named Heather Skye asked him more about “what he was most proud of besides acting”. She had heard his speech that he had given at Amnesty International about domestic violence towards women and was thankful for his openness in sharing his own experiences from childhood. Sir Stewart works for women facing domestic violence through an organization called Refuge. He also works for soldiers suffering PTSD through another organization called Combat Stress. If you didn’t already love Patrick Stewart here are more reasons to do so. This man in my opinion, is a real superhero.
I urge to you watch this video all the way to the end and then head on over to Heather’s blog to check out her version of the experience.
Domestic Violence affects more and more families every single day. One in four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime and over 3 million children every year will witness it in their homes. I encourage you to be a real superhero and support organizations and efforts in your community that work to help victims of domestic violence.
