Today employees of Marvel had to evacuate their building due to a manhole fire near the building their editorial offices are located in. According to The Associated Press “The Fire Department says flames and smoke began pouring out of a manhole on West 51st Street around 2:10 p.m. Monday”
Photos and videos of the fire have already been posted online via social media networks like facebook, and instagram.
Marvel editor Tom Brennan put up a twitter announcement to all freelance artists that the office would be closed. Marvel Digital Media Group Director, Ron Perazza, confirmed that the offices were closed, and also said that the New York Police Department, as well as the Fire Department, were handling things on the scene.
As of now there has been no word on whether the offices will be closed for longer than today.
For all we know maybe the Fantastic Four were just fighting Mole-Man.
