After seeing his stand at Tidewater Comic Con in Virginia Beach today; well known comic artist Bill McKay agreed to an interview with me for Geekykool.com
Me: So, what’s your favorite comic that you’ve worked on?
Bill: As far as a favorite goes Zombie Tramp has been treating me best and has given me more creative direction.
Me: What made you want to be an artist?
Bill: Well my parents were artists as well and they encouraged me to persue my art as a career. I’ve always loved comic books and knew from an early age that’s what I wanted to do with my life.
Me: What’s next on your to do list?
Bill: Well I’ve created my own comic book that I’m looking to publish later this year. Aside from that, more over the top things are definitely in the future. I really like to draw the outrageous things.
Me: What would you say is your biggest challenge as an artist?
Bill: Starting something new; I’m always always scared when I start a new comic or style because I can’t tell if it’s going to come out right until it’s finished.
I, as well as I imagine many fans of Mr. McKay’s work am thrilled to hear about his new comic book coming out later this year. The prints for Zombie Tramp were nothing short of vivid and captivating, in McKay’s usual style. Once again I would like to thank Bill McKay for taking the time for this brief interview with me. Until next time everyone!
