This October the creative team for Amazing Spider-Man shakes up with Writers Zeb Wells, Kelly Thompson, Saladin Ahmed, Cody Ziglar, and Patrick Gleason with artists Sara Pichelli and Michael Dowling.
The Clone Saga is a dark time for Spidey fans. It is right up there with the re-writing of Gwen Stacy’s past and giving her a relationship with Osborn (I still deny that is true). Peter was replaced by Ben Reilly to be Spider-Man. It looks like it might be happening again. The big question is WHHYYYYY? Can we not come up with new and better ideas than this?
I was skeptical of Dan Slott’s Superior Spider-Man with Doctor Octopus taking over Peter’s body. But Slott really made it work and was enjoyable. He proved me wrong. Can this creative team do the same thing? I hope so or I will be dropping Amazing Spider-Man from my pull list quickly.

The ole Parker Luck has always taken Peter from the verge of happiness to the some miserable situation. In the comics, Peter is about to ask Mary Jane to marry him (again). The cover of Amazing Spider-Man #75 shows a team up with Peter and the Scarlett Spider, Ben Reilly, Peter’s clone. This team up appears to be short lived with #76 showing Peter in the hospital on death’s door.
