I am a child of the 80’s. I remember when my cousins and friends first started getting the Atari 2600. This was a huge deal during my childhood. I will never forget playing Asteroids for the first time. It was so KOOL!
This once giant in entertainment is now filing Bankruptcy. According to Geek System, Atari has filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. Atari hopes to separate themselves from their French parent company Atari S.A. It appears that Atari Inc hopes to attract investors to rejuvenation their awesomeness. Can they can bring out the nostalgia in some investors to give Atari a fresh start? This remains to be seen.
It would be super KOOL to have Atari back in the home video game console race. Can you imagine Atari competing with Nintendo X-Box, and Playstation? This 80’s child can envision it.
