The Daily Beast, Ridley Scott confirmed he is creating a sequel to the science fiction classic, Blade Runner. Blade Runner 2 will not focus on Richard Deckard. “And we’ll definitely be featuring a female protagonist.”
This is exciting news. Blade Runner is one of the greatest movies of all time. I trust that having Ridley working on a sequel will cause this movie to be good. I am already hyped for Scott’s new movie, Prometheus.
I am glad strong female lead characters are becoming more normal. With the success of Hunger Games and the Black Window in Avengers, hopefully will will continue to see more ladies who can kick butt while still being a woman. My daughter enjoys science fiction but she enjoys it even more when a female main character is involved.
I am excited about the prospect of Blade Runner 2. But it does have a long way to go before it makes it to the big screen in a few years.
