Carrie Fisher is finally getting her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 2 pm Central/ Noon Pacific. It is about time. Carrie Fisher is an iconic actress. She was no-nonsense in her later years, which I so adore. She was an early crush of mine.
It is fun that Carrie gets her star on May the Fourth, which has become known as Star Wars Day. It is my opinion that Princess Leia is the true hero of the original Star Wars Trilogy. It is only fitting for her to be honored on this day.
Sadly, some of the excitement for the day is overshadowed by family issues. Carrie’s daughter, Billie Lourd, didn’t invite Carrie’s siblings, Todd, Joely and Tricia Leigh Fisher, to the celebration.
Carrie’s siblings have publicly stated their surprise in not being invited. They are hurt that they weren’t included. This is a celebration of their sister.
Billie rarely makes a public statement but broke her silence about this issue. She apologized for having to air things in the public but felt the need to defend herself. She stated that her relatives are misrepresenting things and attacking her publicly. She stated that she was hurt by her relatives and they know what they have done.
I hope the drama doesn’t overshadow the event of Carrie’s star finally getting added. She well deserves it.
