In an interview with GamesRadar, Chris Pine was asked about a potential sequel to Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Pine stated that nothing is set but he is hearing some rumors of a sequel. He would be excited to return to the world of Honor Among Thieves.
Brian Robbins, the CEO of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon, stated they haven’t given up on the Dungeons and Dragons franchise. According to his interview with Variety, Paramount is looking into a sequel but they need to find a way to make it for less. Even though Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves made $208.2 million in theaters, they still lost about $100 million.
It is difficult for a movie studio to invest in a sequel when the first movie, which was amazing as a fan, didn’t make the money they needed to break even. Pine and the studio can talk all they want about a sequel, but it is hard to see how a sequel will be made.
