According to Variety, another superhero part has been added to the upcoming Man of Steel Sequel. Ray Fisher will portray the roles of Victor Stone and his superhero identity of Cyborg. Assuming that writer Justin Kroll has his facts straight (and no reason to think he doesn’t), then this adds the a third super hero to the Man of Steel sequel (Batman, Wonder Woman, and now Cyborg).
It doesn’t appear that Cyborg will have a large role in this film but it should set him up for the future Justice League movie. If Victor is in this film, then it would seem likely that S.T.A.R. Labs will also have some sort of role.
The character of Cyborg was created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Pérez. He originally premiering in the New Teen Titans in 1980. Victor Stone was in the wrong place when an experiment with dimensional travel goes wrong at S.T.A.R. Labs. He is outfitted with super prosthetics from his father and makes him into part man and part machine. He has super strength and speed and other KOOL gadgets. His character was popular enough that they included him in the Super Friends cartoon in the 80s. Cyborg is currently a part of the Justice League in the rebooted New 52.
It will be interesting to see how they bring Victor Stone and Cyborg to the big screen.
