Darkwing Duck was an awesome 90s cartoon. It took the aspects of the Shadow and Batman and added a spot of Disney fun. This series was wonderful for all ages with kid appropriate action but a story that an adult could enjoy.
No wonder the internet buzzed today with news that Darkwing Duck being rebooted. This series is beloved by many. But there was a ton of confusion about the reboot.
The reboot is not a reboot of the animated series. Darkwing Duck is getting a reboot in the comic books. An April Fools joke post from last year did pull a ruse about a new Darkwing Duck televsion series.
Previously Darkwing Duck has had two limited runs in comics. Disney comics ran Darkwing Duck in 1991. BOOM! Studios had a comic run in 2010. Joe Books is publishing a new Darkwing Duck ongoing comic book series. It will début in April. Writer Aaron Sparrow and artist James Silvani will create the new series for Joe Books.
