Actress Dawn Wells passed away at age 82. She died from COVID 19 Complications.
Dawn Wells is best known for her role as Mary Ann Summers on Gilligan’s Island. She played the adorable girl next door role to perfection. This role sparked the debate of Ginger or Mary Ann that still rages on over 55 years after the show debuted.
Wells originally studied chemistry in college before changing to a theater arts and design major. She was Miss Nevada in 1959 and competed for Miss America in 1960. She was a regular on some series before crashing on Gilligan’s Island like The Roaring 20s, Palm Springs Weekend, and The New Interns. She continued acting regularly long after Gilligan including on an episode of The Bold and Beautiful in 2016.
