San Diego Comic Con had a ton of buzz about many different things over the weekend. But the buzz about DC Comics movie announcement was huge. They have at least three movies in the works.
DC’s big headliner is the sequel to Man of Steel. The fact that DC and Warner Bros has green lighted the sequel doesn’t surprise anyone. The return of Director Zach Snyder, writer David Goyer, and Superman actor Henry Cavill was expected. The shocking piece was the announcement was about Batman joining with Superman in this sequel. It has a release date set for 2015.
There is no word on who will portray Bruce Wayne/Batman in this sequel. It is expected he will continue with the role in future movies.
The plot of this movie is still a mystery. The rumor mill expects Batman to be at odds with Superman. For most of the last 3 decades, Batman and Superman have had an antagonistic friendship. I expect there to be conflict and fighting but eventually to work together. That is how most team ups work in comics. Heck, Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America had to fight it out for a few minutes before they became a team in the Avengers.
But the Man of Steel sequel is not the only DC movie news. DC announced plans for a Flash movie in 2016. A Justice League movie is in the plans for 2017.
Unfortunately, still not a whisper about a Wonder Woman movie.
Stay Geeky my Friends!
