DC Comics has announced they will have a new General Manager in charge next month. This person will take their position on Friday September 18th, 2020. The details of the new General Manager are sparse. It is unknown if this person is coming from the inside or from the outside of DC or Warner, or AT&T.
This comes on the heels of AT&T cleaning house at Warner Bros and DC. All together, 800 individuals lost their jobs. It is speculated that a 1/3 of DC’s editorial staff have been let go including Editor-In-Chief Bob Harras and Vince Letterio, Director – Publishing Operations.
Times are strange and not so happy with Warner and DC staff. Many are being required to work the next 2 to 3 month while knowing their jobs will be lost. The new General Manager at DC has their hands full with all of the change.
Jim Lee is still the Chief Creative Officer. He was quoting staying they will get back to the business of creating comics. The printed comics will shrink about 20 to 25%. He did state that much of their future will be based on Digital.
