DirecTV announced on Monday that it is buying the rival satellite service of Dish Network. They will pay a huge amount of a singular dollar for the network. That is right. The purchase price is only a dollar.
DirecTV will take over the Debt of Dish as a part of this sale. If this deal goes fully through then DirecTV will take over the $2 billion debt of Dish Network. This is a merger/ purchase that DirecTV has been trying to do for years and years.
Both DirecTV and Dish have been struggling with their services. Many of us cut the cords long ago. Back then DirecTV and Dish acted like they could easily replace their customers and wouldn’t work much with correct subscribers. The streaming options picked up and many of us Ditched Dish and DirecTV.
The rise of Netflix streaming, HULU, and Amazon Prime let viewers watch what they wanted without the huge costs of satellite systems.
