Disney made several big announcements for new Star Wars movies and series at the Star Wars Celebration 2023. Let us get started.
Daisy Ridley returns to the Star Wars universe as Rey. This is a huge announcement with a fan favorite in Rey returning. This is an untitled movie being directed by SHARMEEN OBAID-CHINOY. It will be set a decade after The Rise of Skywalker.
A Davide Filoni directed movie is also set for theater release. It will focus on the New Republic. It will interconnect stories from The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka. It may bridge some gaps from these series and the future with Snoke and the return of the Emperor.
Another movie will take us back 25,000 years before the original trilogy. It will look at the origins of discovering the force. It will be directed by James Mangold.
Taika Waititi will direct a Star Wars movie and it set to be the first one of these to hit theaters. It is Krysty Wilson-Cairns. No other details were revealed.
The final movie Star Wars movie to be announced is said to have a lot of heart but didn’t give much in details. It will be directed by Shawn Levy.

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures is a new animated children’s series coming to Disney+. It will follow a group of younglings as they train to become Jedi Knights during the era of the High Republic, which is set hundreds of years before the main timeline of Star Wars films. It is set to premiere on Disney+ on April 26, 2023.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is a new series on Disney+ scheduled for later this year. It takes place after Return of the Jedi and during the reconstructive period. This is when some of the best Star Wars Novels are set. It is a coming of age series about four kids lost on a planet trying to find their way home.
The Acolyte is a series taking place 100 years before Phantom Menace about the Hight Republic. It is a female led series focusing on the secretive side of the galaxy. A former Jedi padawan joins forces with her former master to investigate a series of crimes but confront a more sinister plan than could have been anticipated.
