The Science Fiction classic, Dune, is getting a remake. They have started announcing some of the cast. The latest cast member to be added is Josh Brolin. He will portray Gurney Halleck. He joins Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atreides (main character) and Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgard, Charlotte Rampling and Javier Bardem. Zendaya and Oscar Isaac.
Josh Brolin continues his dominance in geek movies. He is the big bad for the Avengers as Infinite Stone wielding Titan, Thanos. Last year he joined up with Deadpool as the futuristic mutant, Cable. Brolin has a ton of other movie roles under his belt.
This is the third making of the Dune movie. The first was in 1984 and was not a huge hit but became a cult following. It lost money at the box office and was critically a failure.
In the early 2000s, the SyFy network created a Dune miniseries. It won a Primetime Emmy Awards in 2001, for Outstanding Cinematography for a Miniseries or Movie and Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special. It is a considered a wonderful adaption of the novels.
We will keep covering the Dune news as it is revealed.
