Dungeons and Dragons turns 50 years old in 2024. From the early days of geeks and nerds gathering in basements to play this new game –to the Satanic Panic that told our parents it was a trap to pull our souls to hell– to the selling of D&D to Wizards of the Coast — to the revival with 5e, those of us playing have had fun. It has been 50 years of fun even when we were told not to have fun playing it.
Ironically, the world was scared of it in the 80s with a ton of commentary about it and now it is being celebrated. It is played in schools to help kids develop problem-shooting and interpersonal skills. It is even getting their own stamps.
That is right. In 2024, you can buy Dungeons and Dragons stamps. The U.S. Mail is putting out a set of 10 stamps with iconic images. These stamps will be available on the USPS online store. A book of D&D stamps will make your role players happy so get them when they become available.
