Warner Bros has announced a Dungeons & Dragons movie is in the works. This is based off the popular role playing game. This announcement came after the lawsuit ended (went on for 2 years) and allowed Warner Bros to proceed with the project.
Some of our readers may remember that the movies previously based on Dungeons & Dragons. There were back in the 2000s. They were low budget films and had a Sci Fi movie of the week feel but I thought they were fun escapism.
David Leslie Johnson (“The Conjuring 2”) has already written the screenplay set in the “D&D” fantasy world of Forgotten Realms. Hasbro’s Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis, Sweetpea Entertainment’s Courtney Solomon and Allan Zeman, and Roy Lee (“The Lego Movie”) are producing the high-priority project. (Variety)
I am very excited for this movie news. It is great that Warner Bros is taking this very serious. They have pulled out all of the stops. This movie could be fantastic. Of course, we will wait until the start filming and show us a trailer before I get excited about it.
