Here is an interesting interview video with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. He was asked about playing character in the DC Movie universe and here is what he said. Check out the video. If you are a comic fan, you probably will guess the answer to the question by his hints.
The Rock told us that the character has the powers of Superman but isn’t Superman or Green Lantern (who doesn’t have the powers of Superman anyway). Then he gave us an as an additional clue when he simply said, “Say the Word!”
I hope Warner Bros and DC don’t mind The Rock giving away the answer before they could put together a press conference. It is clear to me that he is discussing none other than DC’s Captain Marvel, The Earth’s Mightiest Mortal. Some people know him for the magic word he says, SHAZAM, which transforms him into Captain Marvel.
Yes, I do realize that DC’s New 52 changed his name to SHAZAM but I will continue to call him by his hero name that I love and know him as, Captain Marvel.
Now lets discuss how he fits as Captain Marvel. He won’t play young Billy Batson but would solely be Captain Marvel. I can see it and believe it could work.
