We already know that Fox is putting out a movie reboot of the Fantastic Four for next summer. Geeky KOOL reported in the past that Fox isn’t sticking with the Comic Book versions of these characters. Things will be different. Michael B. Jordon is playing Johnny Storm which is a huge departure from the comics. The reports are that the focus will not be on the super part of this super hero team.
According to Collider, the character of the antagonist Doctor Doom will be a huge departure from the comics. Doom will be played by Toby Kebbell . Doctor Doom in this movie is actually Victor Domashev and not the traditional Victor Von Doom. Victor Domashev is a programmer and has a blog, “Doom”.
Wow! I am stunned by this. Are you kidding me? I knew Fox was taking a lot of liberties with the characters but this completely changes the character of Doctor Doom.
The original Fantastic Four movies were okay. I enjoyed them for what they were. There was enough of a grounding in the comics that I could enjoy it and laugh at all of the nudges and winks to the fans.
Before this news, I was already disliking this movie’s disregard for the essence of the classic characters. The news about Doctor Doom has me rolling my eyes. At this point, I doubt I will see this movie in the theaters.
