According to Newsarama (and tons of other internet web pages), the folks at 20th Century Fox have been discussing how to move their cinematic owned Marvel properties of the Fantastic Four and the X-Men to the small screen. They have seen the success of D.C. Comics’ Arrow and Smallville. They are seeing the vibrant plans of Marvel small screen with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and their Netflix deal.
Fox must be stinging over their recent loss of Daredevil. They gave up the property because the Daredevil movie was a flop and they were unable to do anything else with it. Because of that, it reverted back to Marvel control. Marvel was quick to jump on it and add it to their list of upcoming Netflix series. OUCH! Why didn’t Fox think of that?
Now Fox is determined to keep their rights to these Marvel comic book series and to the expanded characters. They will find a way to keep the rights for an extended time while cashing in comic book movie and television popularity.
