This Saturday is Free Comic Book Day or FCBD! First Saturday of May every year an awesome event and celebration of comics. The comic industry gives away certain comic books to fans and the causal readers alike. You can go to your local comic book store or stores and pick up a pelethra of variety of comics. You will find kid comics, super heroes, horror, comedy, action, science fiction, fantasy, romance, and many other types of comics all for free.
There are several local comic book shops in Springfield, MO that are participating in FCBD. Here are the list of places I will be going tomorrow to participate in Free Comic Book Day.
The Comic Cave is located in the Fremont Center- 1316 E. Battlefield, Springfield, MO. The Comic Cave opens at 10 am tomorrow but you might want to get there early because there will be a line. Comic creator Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt will be in the Cave tomorrow signing comics. Come and meet a couple of awesome creators while getting your free comics.
Nameless City Board Games & Comics will host Free Comic Book Day. It is located at 2244 S Campbell Ave, Springfield, MO 65807. They open at Noon but might open a little early for FCBD. They will have Tim and Phil from the Stellar Babe comic book. The awesome artist (and friend) David Faught will be giving out an awesome poster.
Speaking of David Faught, in the morning, he will be at Vintage Stock giving out a different awesome poster. You will want a copy of both. Vintage Stock is located at across from the Battlefield Mall. It opens at 10 Am.
I hope to see you at Free Comic Book Day.
