Comic artist and creator George Pérez is one of the great comic creators from the 1970s and 1980s. I became aware of his amazing art in 1980s when The New Teen Titans debuted. The writing of Marv Wolfman and the beautiful art of George Pérez made it always one of my favorite books.
Over the years, I enjoyed numerous cook books that George has created on. I realized how amazing his art and storytelling were. About 10 years ago, I had a chance to meet George. He was a super nice guy who loved his fans. He loved that people were cosplaying his characters. He took some time to chat with me and he was pretty funny.
George revealed sad news yesterday. George has terminal stage 3 pancreatic cancer. He is not pursuing treatment at this time. See Below for the Facebook post from George.
