According to CBR, Comic book artist and writer George Perez has signed an exclusive contract with BOOM! Studios. His contract is a more secure than most artists. He will start to work as a studio artist but eventually will release his own original works as a writer and artist for BOOM! They have not announced what special project he will be working on yet.

George was ready for a change away from the big two comic companies. He felt stifled by the ever growing cooperate control of the comic industry. He needed a change rejuvenate the creative juices and storytelling.
