Comedian Gilbert Gottfried passed away at age 67 on Tuesday at 2;35 pm Eastern. He died from a recurrent ventricular tachycardia due to myotonic dystrophy type II.
Gottfried made his mark in Comedy 50 years ago. Often his jokes were considered brash, shocking and offensive by some. Those that knew him said his life with friends and family was the opposite with being so loving and caring.
Gottfried was also an actor. He has 184 credits to his acting career according to IMDB. He is known for his roles in movies like Problem Child and Beverly Hills Cop II. People born after 1985 will best know him for his role as Aladdin as the parrot Iago. I will best remember him for his late night antics on the USA Network’s Up All Night, where he was the host of B movie Marathons.
