I have been working with Heroes for Kids for a good number of years now, through a mutual friend. I became their anime person. They are like family to me and I have worked, befriended, and had so many wonderful adventures and memories because of them. I feel loved, accepted, safe, talented, and useful when with them, their heart to help children, and work ethic inspiring.
I met Chelsea through these events.
To be honest; when I first saw her, I was nervous! She was so pretty and full of this charm that I admired right away. I wanted to be like her! After a few events together, funnily enough, she admitted something similar to me and how she felt shy. I was stunned, but it just showed how similar we are. She is so kind, always building me up and loving me for who I am, even though she doesn’t know anything about anime. We both take care of each other and have an absolute blast when hanging out, our selfies are legendaries. Seeing fans freak seeing her and all the effort she and her mom put into her passion, every piece fills my heart and fuels my drive to cosplay and make others, especially kids, smile. Chelsea is spunky, caring, creative, hard-working, strong, supportive, funny, charming, and an amazing friend.
I am delighted she agreed to this interview! Come meet my puddin’ and learn more about her and her works below.

Interview with Chelsea Quinn Cosplay!
1. What were you like as a child?
“Would you believe I was told I was too loud, and talked too much! Haha! I know crazy.”
2. How did you find superheroes in your life and how did they influence you?
“I’ve always been a Batman girl. Not really sure why though.”
3. I know you are a softball star. When did it enter your life and how many games have you been in in your life?
“I swear I could throw a ball before I could walk. My dad played ball growing up, so I’ve always played. I was a pitcher, and in the way back time when I was in high school (I will not disclose when,) I was in the record book for Missouri, for my number of strikeouts in a single season. I am still happy to say I was one of the girls to help our team to state for the first time in school history. I also got my collegiate schooling paid for due to a softball scholarship. I know just occasionally play slow-pitch softball.”
4. Tell us about your wonderful momma. 🙂
“How do I talk about her?! She literally follows me everywhere. I talk to her nearly every day. She is the best person ever!!!”
5. How did you meet your man and what do you love about him?
“We met while playing softball. We’re on the same co-ed team. He’s one of my all-time favorite people.”
6. What was your first costume/cosplay?
“I want to say 2016 with ‘Suicide Squad’ Harley but technically, it was probably ‘Hannah Montana.'”
7. What was your first convention?
“Cape Con 2017.”
8. Can you give us a step-by-step tutorial on how you get your famous Suicide Squad Harley cosplay, including how much time it takes to get each part ready?
“I usually start by printing and cutting out all the tattoos (there is like 20+) Then I apply them all. The time doing this usually depends on how the tattoo paper wants to act. I next curl my hair and add my extensions. And I end with applying my makeup. Finally, I slowly start putting on the costume pieces. Total time is approximately 1 hour 30 min.”
9. How many Harley Quinn cosplays do you have?
- “2016 Suicide Squad,
- Daddy’s Lil Monster,
- Prison,
- Club dress,
- 2021 Suicide Squad,
- Beach assault,
- Red Dress,
- Jester Harley (BTAS,)
- Rebirth/ New 52,
- Batman Arkham Games Arkham Asylum Harley,
- Softball Harley,
- Dr. Harleen Quinzel,
- DC Superhero Girls, original series,
- BatQuinn.
This may not even be them all, I just can’t recall.”
10. Why do you enjoy working with Heroes for Kids?
“Honestly, the family aspect. We are really just one big crazy family. Everything we do is so much fun and helps so many people.”
11. What is the hardest thing about creating a new cosplay?
“Creating a new cosplay (hahaha!)”
12. What advice would you give to aspiring cosplayers?
“Just. Do. It. No matter what anyone says you can and can’t cosplay.”
13. How was your experience meeting THE Tara Strong?
“Freaking. Insane. She’s such an amazing voice actor and just a genuine person.”
14. What other cosplays are you currently working on?
“Wednesday Addams/Harley mashup, Perfect Day Barbie, and maybe a Barbie/ Harley mashup.”
15. What food are you craving right now?
“Cocoa Pebbles with Marshmallows.”
16. If you could go on a day outing with Supergirl, Barbie, and Harley, where would you four go and what would you do during your day (will it go smoothly?)
“I mean, unlike my characters, I like just staying home. And smoothly… with Harley?! Maybe we could go shopping, IDK seems like something they would like.”
17. What are your comfort movies?
“Pretty much any Live-action ‘Batman,’ the first ‘Suicide Squad,’ and ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.'”
18. It means the world to me when you listened to my book, “The Hunter and The Bringer.” 🙂 Care to please share what you liked about it?
“The visuals portrayed were all so vivid so they kinda popped into my head without my brain having to brain.”
19. You are kind, fierce, lovely, energetic, and an incredible friend and role model in every way. I adore you. 🙂 I am so blessed with you friendship. What does our friendship mean to you?
“You are one of the most kind, and amazing people the world of cosplay has brought into my life. You are a ray of sunshine and are happy to be wherever it may be at that time. I know you don’t always feel it but you are a kick A** cosplayer. Thank you for always being you!!!”
