Jamie Foxx was Electro in the 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 that starred Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man. It was reported earlier in the week by The Hollywood Report that Foxx was in negations with Sony to return in the next Spidey movie as Electro. Foxx has since confirmed that he will be a part of this movie.
In Spider-Man: Far From Home had the return of J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson. Simmons was amazing in the original Spider-Man trilogy as Jameson. His return was a great moment in that film.
There is speculation that the next Spidey movie will be a live action Into the Spiderverse movie. The return of Foxx as Electro seems to feed into this idea. The popularity of the animated Into the Spiderverse movie sets the stage for a live action adaption of the Spiderverse comic storyline. It makes a lot of sense.
Back in May, our friends at Popculture Minefield had a Mikey Sutton Scoop that the next Spider-Man movie would be a crossover with all the three Spider-Men: Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire. This would be a huge crossover where the Spider-Men have to take on the Sinister Six. There is also speculation that Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man will die in the end and set up a Miles Morales Spider-Man in that universe. Mikey Sutton now has his own website, Geekosity, where he reiterates these points.
