Today costume designer-turned-director of films including “St. Elmo’s Fire,” “The Lost Boys” and “Batman Forever” and “Batman and Robin” films among others , Joel Schumacher died in New York City on this morning after a year-long battle with cancer. He was 80. Schumacher started his career as a costume designer and he brought his fashion background to the styling of his films.
