Geeky KOOL’s own Valerie Bogert’s works for the Springfield (MO) Public Library. She is involved with special events at the Library Center. Below is her statement about Sunday’s upcoming event at the Library Center in Springfield.
Looking for something to do on September 21st? Come to Hobbit Day at the Library Center! Your little hobbits can journey through Middle Earth to get the One ring to Mt. Doom and visit Gollum’s fishing corner. Older adventurers can try our trivia, crafts, and a riddle scavenger hunt. Costumes are encouraged! Join us in the Auditorium for Hobbity fun at 2 p.m. on Sunday the 21st. (Valerie)
This is extremely KOOL. It is a great way to introduce young people to the great literary (and movie) world of Middle Earth. The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings captured my imagination as a kid and still do.
