Robert Rodriguez, director of El Mariachi, Desperado, Spy Kids, Sin City, Grindhouse,Machete, and The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D, has joined writer Terry Rossio of Aladdin, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and Shrek to revise the script for the live action Jonny Quest movie. Rodriguez will direct the adaptation of the 1964 Primetime Hanna-Barbera cartoon.
Jonny Quest was an action/adventure cartoon. It starred Jonny as an adventure seeking boy. He was accompanied by his best friend Hadji- an Kolkatan orphan, his father- Benton C Quest, bodyguard Race Bannon, and his dog Bandit. They got into numerous adventures while exploring the world.
The original show only lasted one season. It was fairly popular but a very expensive show to make for the time.
