2024 will be Planet Comicon Kansas City’s 25th Anniversary. They are going to do it big and amazing. It isn’t until March 2024 but we already have exciting news coming out.
Planet Comicon has always brought in awesome comic creator guests along with their incredible celebrity guests.
Comic writer Mark Waid has been announced to be at Planet Comicon next year. Waid has over 33 years of comic-creating experience. he has written for Marvel, DC, Archie, and creator-own comics. He has written from Superman to the Justice League to Spider-Man to Archie. His Kingdom Come comic is one of the best-selling comics of all time. His run on Daredevil revised and re-awaken Daredevil to a whole new level for me. I have met Waid before but I am excited to meet him again.
Amanda Conner and her husband Jimmy Palmiotti are amazing guests. They have attended Planet Comicon in prior years. They are both friendly and cool to talk to.
Conner began her career as an illustrator for New York ad agencies. She started her comic career on Marvel’s Barbie line. She has worked on books like Disney’s Gargoyles, Excaliber, X-men, Supergirl, Painkiller Jane, Powergirl, Wonder Woman, Lois Lane,Codename: Knockout, Terra and Birds of Prey , and X-Men Unlimited. Conner is best known for her run on Harley Quinn. Connor has worked Garth Ennis and Jimmy Palmiotti on the creator-owned book at Image, The Pro.
Jimmy Palmiotti and his wife Amanda Conner are amazing guests. They have attended Planet Comicon in prior years. They are both friendly and cool to talk to.
Palmiotti is a writer that has a ton of interesting careers including advertising, production, consulting, editorial, screenwriting, development and production, media presentation, and video game development. He has co-created several companies including Event Comics, Black Bull Media, Marvel Knights (a division of Marvel Comics), and Paperfilms. He co-created characters like The New West, Monolith, 21 Down, The Resistance, The Pro, Back To Brooklyn, Gatecrasher, Random Acts of Violence, Killing Time in America, Beautiful Killer, Ash, Cloudburst, Trigger Girl 6, Trailblazer, Ballerina, The Twilight Experiment, and Painkiller Jane. He is well known for working with his wife on the Harley Quinn comic.
Kevin Eastman was in the right place when he put out the independent anamorphic martial art comic, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 1984. The first issue of this independent comic sold out of the 3000 copies overnight. This black-and-white comic captured the hearts and minds of fans and made it an overnight success. TMNT never looked back. They have become a huge part of our culture. The 80s cartoon and then the live-action movies moved the success even higher. The alternative future Turtle miniseires, The Ronnin, has caught the attention of fans and critics alike.
Autographs on comics or other items is set at $25 per Autograph / $50 for an Autograph with a remark.
Early on, Fancis J. Manapul was best known for his work on Witchblade and The Necromancer for Top Cow. He is also known for his covers including G.I. Joe comics from Devil’s Due Publishing. He has spent most of his career with DC Comics with runs on Legion of Super-Heroes, Flash, Detective Comics, and Trinity.
It is lot of great comic creators and I know there will be tons more. I cannot wait for Planet Comicon in Kansas City March 8 – 10 th.
