Marvel Studios announced that filming of Ant-Man has now began. Ant-Man is scheduled to be released on July 17, 2015. Peyton Reed is directing it. Reed tweeted today, “Alright, gang. Today is the day. LET’S. GET. small.”
Ant-Man was a founding member of the Avengers in the comics. He can shrink (and at times grow) with his Pym Particles. He has the ability to talk to ants and at some level control them (great power for an Orkin Man).
Paul Rudd will star at Scott Lang (the second Ant-Man in the comics). The great Michael Douglas will be Doctor Hank Pym (Original Ant-Man in the comics). The gorgeous Evangeline “Freckles” Lilly will portray Hope Van Dyne, Hank’s Daughter. No word on Janet Van Dyne aka the Wasp (also Hope’s mother).
I have to admit that I am skeptical about this movie. But I am less skeptical after seeing Marvel Studios magic with the Guardians of the Galaxy.
