The Bloomberg BusinessWeek has an interesting article with Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios. The article goes over the history of how and why Marvel created their own movie studios. He discusses the purchase of Marvel by Disney. It discusses his understanding of comic books and how they pull to the modern movie screen.
In this interesting article, he stated that Marvel has a plan and a type of roadmap for future movies. He didn’t reveal what is on the map was. Instead he did state that the Movie Map currently goes out till 2028 with movies. This year will see Captain America: The Winter Soldier (opens tomorrow) and the unlikely selection of The Guardians of the Galaxy later this year from Marvel Studios. (The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and X-Men: Days of Future Past aren’t Marvel Studio productions)
I am very excited about this news and to see what Marvel Studios has in line for us in the near and distant future. We know that Marvel Studios are bringing television series to Netflix including Daredevel . I do fear we will hit a saturation level with Marvel movies and shows in a few years. But I will enjoy the ride as long as it lasts.
