HBO Max is going full guns with their DC Superheroes. More Wonder Woman and Batman are coming to HBO Max.
Linda Carter’s awesome Wonder Woman series of the 1970s is now streaming on HBO Max. It ran from 1975 to 1979. The first season was called The New, Original Wonder Woman was on ABC and set during World War II (this is my favorite season). It then moved to CBS for the next 2 seasons as The New Adventures of Wonder Woman and set in modern day 1970s with no explanation how jumped time.
This series made me fall in love with Wonder Woman. Yes, it is a bit dated and cheesy but I still love it. It used to be on reruns MeTV on Saturdays and I would watch it every week. Even my 19 year old daughter and 11 year old son enjoyed it. I am looking forward to it being available on HBO Max.

The award winning Batman The Animated Series will drive (in the Batmobile) into HBO Max in January 2021 (see already a better year). This cartoon series took the DC Comic characters out of the Super Friends mode and brought it into a harsher reality with real comic book action. This series revolutionized what cartoons could do with Superheroes. Without it, Marvel’s Spider-Man The Animated Series wouldn’t have never happened.
BTAS is my favorite reedition of Batman and the Joker. It starred Kevin Conroy as the iconic voice of Batman. Mark Hamill makes us forget about the early whining of Luke Skywalker (and I love Luke) and moves us into the creepy and perfectly chaotic voice of the Joker. Efrem Zimbalist Jr. gives that balance of the caring caretaker and the quick witted and sometimes snarky Alfred.
Batman The Animated Series ran form September 5, 1992, to September 15, 1995 on Fox Kids. It also had a couple of animated movies that were continuations of the same series. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is amazing. Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero is a really good movie too.
That isn’t all either. HBO Max will bring Batman Beyond to their streaming service on January 1st, 2021. Batman Beyond is set around 40 years after BTAS. Bruce Wayne has retired from being Batman but the city needs a hero. He trains teenager Terry McGinnis to become the new Batman for Gotham. He has new futuristic costume with Armor that is cool and super effective.
Batman Beyond ran for three seasons. It started on January 10, 1999 and ran till December 18, 2001. It initially was met with some hesitation with fans but quickly became a cult favorite. It took Batman into more of a futuristic cyberpunk and science fiction bent.
Kevin Conroy returns as the voice of the Grumpy Crotchety Bruce Wayne. Will Friedle is the voice of the teen Terry aka Batman.
HBO Max will also be adding other DC Feature animated films to their service. This will include Batman animated films like Bad Blood, Hush, and Death in the Family. It promises to bring other Superhero animated films in their catalog to stream with the service.
The Chris Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy will be added in 2021 to HBO Max.
If you are a DC Fan, HBO Max will have most of the movies and series you have loved over the years all in one place. They want to make it impossible for you not to see the value in their service.
My big question is “When will they add the Super Friends?” All joking aside, I loved the Super Friends as a kid and would love to see them on this service. I am surprised it remains missing along with the two incredible Justice League animated series. I am sure they are coming because they want to hold onto my money.
