Over the last week, there has been a huge X-Files buzz. Firstly, Gillian Anderson went on the Neridst Podcast and talked openly about missing the X-Files. She stated she would be overjoyed to return to the role Agent Dana Scully along with her co-stars.
Then we find out that Chris Carter (X-Files Show runner- not the Former NFL Receiver) has been in talks with the Fox Network to bring the X-Files back. Fox chairman Gary Newman even made an announcement about their talks. It appears they are focused on bringing it back in a limited fashion such at a miniseries (I.E. 24).
But what about David Duchovny? We can’t have a X-Files revival without Fox Mulder. Well good news X-Philes (X-File fans), Duchovny stated in yesterday’s USA Today, that he is ready to return to X-Files.
Duchovny tells USA TODAY he’s “more than happy and excited to bring it back and do it again with (co-star) Gillian (Anderson) and (series creator) Chris (Carter).” (USA Today)
There is a long ways to go to make this happen. Everyone is working other jobs so it will be a timing and money issue. But with Anderson, Duchovny, and Carter on board to make it happen, there should be no reason this doesn’t materialize. There is a twitter movement to get the show back with #XFiles2015.
Until we have confirmation, “I Want to Believe“!
